Simarjit Singh Bains is an Indian politician from the state of Punjab and a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.[1][2]

Bains represents the Atam Nagar Assembly Constituency of Punjab.[3][4]

Political Party

Bains is an independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. They have made their own party Lok Insaaf Party and made an Alliance with Aam Aadmi Party for 2017 Punjab election.[5]

Controversy

On 24 December 2016, Bains and a group of men lifted the toll barrier at the Ladhowal Toll Plaza, allowing people to drive through the toll without paying, after complaining that he had been waiting for 30 minutes to pass through the toll.[6]

Personal life

Bains's brother Balwinder Singh Bains is also an Independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.[7][8]
