Silje Aker Johnsen

Silje Marie Aker Johnsen is a Norwegian soprano and dancer. She is a member of Ensemble neoN.

In 2017 Aker Johnsen was awarded Spellemannprisen for the 2016 album Neon, as part of Ensemble neoN. Along with Christian Eggen, Cikada Ensemble and a number of other performers she was also nominated for another Spellemannprisen award in the same category this year, for the album Ophelias: Death By Water Singing, composed by Henrik Hellstenius.[1]

Aker Johnsen was the winner of the Norwegian Society of Composers' 2013 Performer of the Year award.[2] An experpt of the justification read,

What she does as a performer is almost impossible. She is a true virtuoso. A performer that can do virtually anything.[1]

As of 2017, Aker Johnsen is also a research fellow at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.[3]
