Sid Hearn

Sidney "Sid" George Hearn (28 July 1899 – 23 August 1963) was an English cricketer who played in first-class cricket matches for Kent County Cricket Club between 1922 and 1926.[1] He was born in Harbledown, Kent, and died at Chartham, also in Kent.

Hearn played as a lower middle-order left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox spin bowler, but was unable to establish himself in the Kent team as either batsman or bowler. His best season was 1925 when he made an unbeaten 54 in a Kent total of 548 for eight wickets, declared, against Somerset.[2] In a side where the spin bowling was in the capable hands of Tich Freeman and Frank Woolley, also a left-arm spinner, he never took more than three wickets in an innings.[1]

Hearn's nephew Peter played for Kent between 1947 and 1956.
