Shyama Charan Shukla

Shyama Charan Shukla (27 February 1925 Raipur, Chhattisgarh 14 February 2007 Raipur, Chhattisgarh)[1] veteran Indian National Congress leader and served three times as Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh.

He was a member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative assembly from Rajim from year 1957 and later for years 1962, 1967,1972, 1990, 1993 and 1998.[2]

He was Chief minister of the Madhya Pradesh from 26 March 1969 to 28 January 1972, 23 December 1975 to 29 April 1977 and 9 December 1989 to 4 March 1990.[1][2]

He was Member of Parliament from Mahasamund in 1999.[2]

Family

He is the son of first Chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla. Vidya Charan Shukla was his younger brother. Shukla brothers were once a political strongman of Madhya Pradesh.

His son, Amitesh Shukla, served as Rural Development Minister in the Chhattisgarh government under Ajit Jogi and is currently serving in the state assembly of Chhattisgarh from Rajim.[2]
