The Shire Oak Academy (formerly Shire Oak School and Shire Oak Grammar School) is a coeducational academy school (age range 11–18) in Walsall Wood, West Midlands, England. More recently, the name was changed to Shire Oak Academy.
Originally a leading grammar school, along with many other secondary schools in the West Midlands Shire Oak became a comprehensive school in 1970, merging at the time with Walsall Wood Secondary Modern School.[1]

Ofsted Results 2013
- Total number of pupils in 2013 was 1420.
- 65% of all pupils attained five GCSEs at grades A* to C including English and mathematics.
- 70% of pupils attained grade A* to C in English.
- 75% of all pupils attained grade A* to C in mathematics.
- 51% of pupils were entered for science (EBacc) and 82% of these attained grades A*-C.
- The attendance rate at this school was 94.2%.
Features
It is one of two secondary schools providing services for the pupils of Walsall Wood, it also provides schooling for the Aldridge and Brownhills areas.[2]
Threat of closure
In the late 1980s, it was faced with the threat of closure, but remained open following a campaign by the local community.[3]
