Shane Burgos (born March 19, 1991) is an American MMA fighter. He competes in the Featherweight[2] division and is currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Burgos began his amateur MMA career in 2010. Before turning pro in 2013, he earned a record of 6 wins and 1 No Contest. Shane currently fights out of the Tiger Shulmanns Mixed Martial Arts school in New Windsor, New York, where he is an Instructor, led by Sensei Jose Montes.

Burgos made his professional MMA debut in July 2013. Over the next two-and-a half years, Burgos amassed a winning record of 7 wins and no defeats; all of his wins have come before the end of the fights' regulated 15 minutes.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Burgos made his promotional debut on December 9, 2016 at UFC Fight Night 102 against Tiago Trator.[3] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[4]

Burgos next fight came at UFC 210 against Charles Rosa.[5] He won the fight via TKO in the third round.[6] Both participants were awarded Fight of the Night for their performance.[7]

Burgos faced Godofredo Pepey on July 22, 2017 at UFC on Fox 25.[8] He won the fight by unanimous decision with scores of 30-26, 30-26, and 29-28.[9]
