Shadingfield is a village in the English county of Suffolk located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Beccles along the A145. The village is joined with Willingham St Mary and 1 12 miles (2.4 km) west of Sotterley. The mid-2005 population estimate for Shadingfield parish was 170,[1] increasing to 178 at the time of the 2011 Census.[2] The parish council operates to administer jointly the parishes of Shadingfield, Willingham, Sotterley and Ellough.[3]

The village has few amenities beyond a pub, the Shadingfield Fox. Children attend a primary school in Brampton and the Sir John Leman High School in Beccles.

The local church, alongside the A145, is dedicated to St John the Baptist.[4]

Prime Minister Gordon Brown took his family holiday at Shadingfield Hall according to reports in the summer of 2008.[5]
