Seerat Kapoor (born 3 April 1993) is an Indian film actress. She began her career as an Assistant Choreographer for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer, film Rockstar (2011 film). She made her acting debut with Run Raja Run (Telugu) in the year 2014.

Early life

Seerat Kapoor was born on 3 April 1993 in Mombassa, Kenya. Her father, late Vineet Kapoor was a hotelier last at The InterContinental, Marine drive, Mumbai and her mother, Neena Sihota Kapoor, is an airhostess with Air India, by occupation. Her elder brother Varun Kapoor is a graduate from National Art School, Sydney, Australia and works as a free-lancer graphic designer, by profession. Seerat was educated at Mumbai's Podar International School, santacruz and completed her pre-university teachings at R. D. National College, Bandra. She subsequently enrolled for a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Mass communication, but later quit it due to scheduling conflicts with her debut film titled, Run Raja Run (Telugu) in the year 2014.

At the time, Seerat was at the peak of her dance career, which she began at the age of sixteen at the renowned Bollywood choreographer; Ashley Lobo, The Danceworx, Mumbai.[1] By now, Kapoor was successfully teaching and training as a full-time dance instructor at the academy. In the course of her journey, Seerat seized the Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri starrer, film Rockstar (2011 film) and was marked on board as the Assistant Choreographer.

Intrigued by the modelling world since a very young age, Seerat decided to explore further her curiosities and trained as an actor at her cousin grandfathers institution; Roshan Tanejaa School Of Acting.[2] In the year 2014, Seerat Kapoor was introduced with her debut film titled Run Raja Run to the Indian Film Industry.

Career

Kapoor announced in 2014 that she would make her film debut with Sharwanand, directed by Sujeeth Singh and backed up by UV Creations. The romantic comedy Run Raja Run, proved to be a major commercial success and Seerat was appreciated in the role of Priya, for her dance skills, screen presence and on screen chemistry with co-star Sharwanand.

In the year 2015, the makers; Madhu B, and N.V Prasad roped in Seerat Kapoor to play the character of Ganga, in the emotional action entertainer titled, Tiger. Set against the backdrop of Varanasi, the film also starred Sundeep Kishan and Rahul Ravindran in the lead roles. Seerat's next release of 2015 came alongside Sumanth Ashwin in the R.Shamala directed romantic comedy, Columbus. The film was produced by Ashwani Kumar Sahdev. Kapoor's performance was applauded as the highlight of the film as she played the average girl next door, Neeraja.

Seerat Kapoor has also endorsed for several brands and products, which include Vivel,[3] Engage Cologne Sprays,[4] Apollo Tyres for Dibakar Banerjee,[5] Mahindra gusto and [6] Intex with Farhan Akhtar[7]

Other work

In addition to acting and dancing, Seerat Kapoor is also a trained Indian Classical singer from Rajesree School Of Music since the age of twelve.
