Secret Superstar is an upcoming Indian musical drama film, written and directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao.[2][3][4] The film features Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij and Aamir Khan in lead roles, and tells the story of a child who aspires to be a singer. Secret Superstar was originally set to release on 4 August 2017, but it was later postponed to 19 October 2017.

Plot

The film revolves around a teenager named Insu who dreams of becoming a famous singer and how she changes her life and the lives of everyone around her.

Development

The official announcement of the film was announced in the early 2015. The title of the film was not revealed at that time. In late April 2016, the title of the film was said to be Secret Superstar.

Filming

The principal photography of the film commenced on 1 September 2016. The film is shot entirely in Mumbai.[5]

Soundtrack

A. R. Rahman was signed in as the composer of the film. But he subsequently opted out after the project was delayed. Composer Amit Trivedi was then brought on board, and the lyrics are written by Kausar Munir.
