Savran, Odessa Oblast
Savran (Ukrainian: Савра́нь Savrán’) is an urban-type settlement in Odessa Oblast (province) of south-western Ukraine. It is located 42 kilometres (26 mi) northeast of Balta and serves as the administrative center of Savran Raion. Population: 6,428 (2015 est.)[1]
Until World War II it had a sizeable Jewish community, which numbered 3198 in 1900. It had been the center of the Hasidic Savran dynasty.
