Satya Harishchandra (Telugu: సత్య హరిశ్చంద్ర) is a Telugu mythological film, based on the story of Raja Harishchandra who was renowned for upholding truth under any circumstance. Mahatma Gandhi's life was very much influenced by Raja Satya Harishchandra stories. The movie was basically a story of social justice at the hands of a righteous king.The songs of Ghantasala and S.Varalakshmi are ever remembered by the audience.K. V. Reddy simultaneously produced a Kannada version of the movie also titled Satya Harishchandra starring Rajkumar.
