Lady Sarah Frances Elizabeth Chatto (née Armstrong-Jones; born 1 May 1964) is the only daughter of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, and the 1st Earl of Snowdon. She is a niece of Queen Elizabeth II and the youngest grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

Life

Sarah Armstrong-Jones was born on 1 May 1964[1] at Kensington Palace in London. She attended Bedales School, the Camberwell School of Art and Middlesex Polytechnic (Middlesex University since 1992) and is a professional painter, represented by the Redfern Gallery. She is also Vice President of the Royal Ballet, an appointment she accepted in 2004, following the example of her late mother, who was also a patron of the Royal Ballet until her death two years before. She was chief bridesmaid at the Wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer on 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral.

Sarah married Daniel Chatto on 14 July 1994,[1] the marriage being officiated by the Reverend Chad Varah at St Stephen's, Walbrook, in the City of London. The couple had met while working on the film Heat and Dust in India. The bride's wedding gown was designed by Jasper Conran. Her bridesmaids were Lady Frances Armstrong-Jones, Zara Phillips (daughter of her cousin Princess Anne, the Princess Royal), and Tara Noble. The couple have two sons.
