Sara Serraiocco (born 13 August 1990) is an Italian film, stage and television actress.

Life and career

Born in Pescara, at a young age Serraiocco studied dance, and also worked as a dance teacher.[1] In 2010 she moved to Rome where she attended at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.[2]

Serraiocco made her film debut in 2013, in Salvo, and her performance got her several awards including the Italian Golden Globe for best actress and the "Guglielmo Biraghi" Nastro d'Argento as best new talent.

In 2015, Sara landed the lead role in the film Cloro, directed by Lamberto Sanfelice. The film was presented at the Sundance Film Festival by Robert Redford and at the 65th Berlinale (selection Generation). For this role Sara was nominated as best actress for the Globo d'oro award 2015. After this she was chosen by Enrico Pau to play the role of Tecla in the film Accabadora & during the same year landed the lead role in the movie La Ragazza del Mondo (aka Worldly Girl), directed by Marco Danieli, which won Sara the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival 2016. [1][3] In 2016 she received the Shooting Stars Award at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.[2][3]

Following this award Sara then landed the leading role of Nora, in Non è un paese per giovani directed by Giovanni Veronesi. After this Sara then had the challenging role of playing a dancer without arms in the movie Brutti e Cattivi directed by Cosimo Gomez. Most recently Sara has been cast as a series regular in the Starz American television series Counterpart, playing the role of Baldwin, opposite J. K. Simmons
