Santa Cruz II is a cruise ship for travellers to the Galapagos Islands.[1][2] It is a current replacement to the M/V Santa Cruz ship operated by the Metropolitan Touring company which has been organizing tours in the country for over six decades.
History
Metropolitan Touring began operations in the 1960s.[3] Since then it has been guiding the expeditions through the Galapagos Archipelago in its M/V Santa Cruz and recently has launched its new ship Santa Cruz II.[4] On 10 October 2015 the Santa Cruz II started its journey on the Ecuadorian Water.[5] Its interior is designed by Richard Nilsson, while its Ecuadorian and International cuisine is under the direction of chef Byron Rivera.[6]
Features
Santa Cruz II has five decks of which three host 90 guests throughout 50 cabins.[7] There are variety of options for choosing cabins like single, double and family cabins.[8] The Darwinian suites here are a bit costly owing to its luxurious accommodation with panorama deck.[9] Santa Cruz II has indoor and outdoor dining, lounge bar and library with 24-hour free coffee, tea and water.[10] Each expedition is accompanied by one touring guide per 12 guests approx. and an expedition leader.[6] They provide expedition equipment during the voyage.[9]
