Sanna Marin
Sanna Mirella Marin (born November 16, 1985) is a Finnish politician. A Social Democrat, she has been member of the Parliament of Finland since 2015.[1]
Career
Marin was born in Helsinki and lived in Espoo and Pirkkala before moving to Tampere.[2] She graduated from the University of Tampere as Bachelor of Administrative Sciences in 2012.[1]
In 2012, she was elected to the City Council of Tampere with 826 votes.[3] She was the chairperson of the City Council from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, she was re-elected to the City Council with 5,783 votes.[4] She is also member of the Assembly of the Council of Tampere Region.[1]
Marin was elected second Vice President of the Social Democratic Party in 2014.[1] In 2015, she was elected to the Parliament of Finland from the electoral district of Pirkanmaa with 10,911 votes.[5] She is currently member of the Grand Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament.[6]
