Sanjeev Bagai is an Indian pediatrician and medical administrator, known for his proficiency in pediatric nephrology and neonatology.[1] He is the Vice Chairman of the Manipal Hospitals,[1] the third largest healthcare network in India.[2]

The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2006, for his contributions to Indian medical sector.[3] Two years later, he received the 2008 Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category.[4]

Bagai, who is an alumnus of the St. Xavier's College, Mumbai,[5] has written several articles, purported to disseminate medical knowledge among the public,[6][7][8] he is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Paediatric Nephrology and is the author of a thesis on pediatric Enuresis.[9]

He has a series of publications in National & International Medical peer reviewed & indexed journals. His sharp & analytical mind has helped numerous research protocols being developed and is on the expert research committees of various such associations.   He has to his credit in excess of 75 publications of repute.  He has very clearly emerged as an iconic figure in healthcare being revered for his vast expensive knowledge & excellent clinical & teaching skills.   

He has formerly been the Chief Executive Officer of Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre, New Delhi and also been the Chief Executive Officer of BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.[10] Dr. Bagai has also been the HOD and Medical Advisor and Director Rockland Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr. Sanjeev Bagai’s expertise is utilized by many High Commissions & Embassies as a Senior Consultant. He is a member of many associations including International Pediatric Nephrology Association, Indian Medical Association, Delhi Medical Association, Delhi Medical Council, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Delhi Nephrology Society, National Neonatal Academy, NSW Australian Medical Board amongst others.

He is a visiting Professor of Paediatrics & Healthcare - University of Montreal, Saint Justin Hospital - Canada, & Univ. of Toledo Ohio, USA[11] and is a former professor at the University of New South Wales, Sydney and has delivered many lectures.[9]

His philanthropic endeavours include the rare surgeries on the famous Con Joint Twins- Sita & Gita, one of only 3 successful near impossible complex surgeries in India & the reconstructive Facial reconstructive surgeries on the Acid attack girl. These path breaking emulate worthy work is deeply connected to his compassion, empathy, benevolence & loyalty to his Medical Profession. He has an unblemished highly decorated career as an epitome to progress, in true service to humanity. He has launched an unprecedented national campaign for Dengue awareness. For him, a patient isn’t just a statistical bed number or an organ disease, but a soul reaching out to him, for care, compassion, empathy, which he provides to one and all. Health care is a mission to him, not just a profession.

Being a good writer, he has contributed to the print & electronic media with more than 7000 articles and press coverages in the last 15 years. He has a natural & special talent of communicating with large audiences, which has helped a global audience to understand disease profiles for preventing illnesses in numerous electronic Television Channels.

Dr. Bagai’s acclamatory work has uniformly assembled a plethora of appreciation and acknowledgment throughout his illustrious tenure. He has imparted more than 850 major lectures & Oration for students at the Indian Medical Association & Delhi Medical Association Conventions. His extensive lectures are renowned for installing the passion of learning amongst all fields of doctors. Dr. Bagai also evidently exhibits one of the most illustrious alumni as he graduated from the celebrated St. Xavier College, Bombay.
