Sandro Fabio Mareco (born 13 May 1987 in Haedo, Buenos Aires Province)[1] is an Argentine chess grandmaster. He competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Mareco has played for Argentina's national team in the Chess Olympiad since 2012.
He won the South American Under-20 Championship in 2007.[2] Mareco was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE in 2010. In 2012 he tied for first place in the Argentine Chess Championship, finishing second on countback.[3]
In 2015, Mareco won the 10th American Continental Championship in Montevideo, Uruguay[4][5] and the Argentine championship.[6] In 2017 he won the Marcel Duchamp Cup in Montevideo with a perfect score of 9/9 points.[7]
