Samir Memišević (born 13 August 1993) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Dutch club Groningen and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
Club career
Born in Tuzla, Memišević played with Slaven Živinice before arriving to Sloboda Tuzla in summer 2012.[1] Sloboda was playing then in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina which is one of the two leagues forming the Bosnian second tier. During the winter break he moved to Serbia by joining Partizan's satellite team Teleoptik.[2] He would stay in Serbia for a year and a half, all time playing in Serbian second league, the Serbian First League. Besides Teleoptik he played for Bežanija as well.[3] In summer 2014 he returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina by joining Bosnian Premier League side Radnik Bijeljina.[1]
In August 2016 Memišević joined Dutch Eredivisie club Groningen, signing a three-year contract.[4] He made his debut for Groningen on his 23rd birthday against Excelsior.[5]
International career
Memišević made his debut for the senior national team on 29 May 2016 in a 1–3 friendly loss to Spain.[6]
