Saleem Khan or Salim Khan is a town and Union Council of Swabi District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.[1] The village is 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the south of Buner District at an altitude of 348 metres (1,142 ft).[2].
Historical, saleem khan was a warier and belong to bizad khel tribe [uthman] .He was very avoucher ,intrepid and great combatant. Remember Gajju khan [great pashtoon leader was also from this tribe.
Gharghashti (غرغښتي) is another great and honorable and respectable tribe of saleem khan kaly . Historical, Gharghashti (غرغښتي) is Third son of Qais Abdur Rashid [legendry founding father of pakhtoon nation and he was in the time HAZRAT KHALID BIN WALLED(RA) ]. <ref> ziaullah jadoon book (tareekh e swabi)
Gharghashti (غرغښتي) means pashtun legendary.
Economy
Approximately above 40,000 (according to unofficial of 2017 national census) people live in the village. The population of Saleem Khan is increasing rapidly.
Village inhabitants mostly depend on agriculture, which is the major source of livelihood. Crops grown include wheat, maize, sugar cane, peas, and especially tobacco. About 40% of the population work overseas, especially in the United Arab Emirates, and the town is dependent on remittances from these workers.

Outskirts of the village, known as Mohallas or sub-locality, include Bizad Khel, Sedo Khel, Merahmad Khel, Kaggleech,abbo banda,janak,major banda,abbazo, Palodand, Qarra, Khadi Mera, Chapai, Bakar, and Petai. It has two electoral wards: main village (Saleem Khan Khas) and Palodand.

Education
Education is a key of success for nation,country and homestead .Literacy rate in Saleem Khan village is 80 - 85% at primary base ,60 - 65% at secondary base and at tertiary and quaternary base [colleges and universities] these values is very low because of overseas countries ,where every year huge number of young peoples goes for wages.Thirteen primary school for boys , Nine primary school for girls ,one high school for boys ,one higher secondary school for boys and one high school for girls are located here,apart of this five private school working here for spreading education (this data is according to elementary and secondary education district swabi). Six big islamic maddrasas and large number of small maddrasas located here .Acheivement of these maddrasas is a huge number of Hufazi kiram and Ulema e kiram is produced every year.
