Salamansa Futebol Clube, also as Futebol Clube Salamansa is a football club that plays in the Premier division of the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the village of Salamansa in the north of the island of São Vicente and plays at Estádio Adérito Sena with a capacity of 5,000, sometimes they play in a nearby field in Salamansa. Its nickname is pescadores (fisherman), as Salamansa has fishing is main industry and a lot of fishermen, even though that tourism could become the other industry of Salamansa with its recent developments on the east part.

History

The club was founded in the mid 2000s. In the 2009 season, the club was fifth place in the regional second division. The club was promoted to the Premier Division and finished fifth place in 2010, in the next season, the club finished last and played in the second division between 2012 and 2014, Salamansa finished second in 2014 and played two promotional matches against Ponta d'Pom, the first match was a goal draw, Salamansa defeated that club 1-3 and returned to the Premier Division. In the 2016 regional cup, Salamansa went to the finals to challenge CS Mindelense, Salamansa beat the club by three goals, all of them were scored by Djodjim, the first one was a penalty kick.[1] Salamansa competed for the first time in the regional super cup, Salamansa faced Mindelense again, this time, they would lose to Mindelense. Salamansa was moderate then in the lower position for the 2017 season, the club was thought to be sixth with Académica Mindelo's match fixing with the fake goalkeeper, their official positions was placed seventh and finished, two promotional matches were played in May 6 & 14, the first leg was a two goal draw and won 1-0 in the second leg and Salamansa was lucky and will continue to play in the Premier Division in the following season.

As cup winner, the club competed in the 2016 Mindelo Cup, the next one in years, the last featured clubs from the city, this edition featured the regional champion Mindelense and two guest clubs from the neighboring island, Académica do Porto Novo and Paulense.

Its logo colors are blue, white and sky blue.

Uniform

Its uniform colors features a light blue shirt and the rest of the clothing dark blue during home games and an orange t-shirt with the remainder black \for away games.
