Sakshi (English: Witness) is a 1989 Telugu, Suspense Thriller film, produced by Vijay, Y. T. Naidu on Sri Gayathri Kala Chitra banner and directed by P. N. Ramachandra Rao. Starring Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Lissy in the lead roles and music composed by Raj-Koti.[2] The film is remake of Malayalam Movie Witness (1988).[3]
Plot
Shekar (Chandra Mohan) who works as a junior artist in the film but bluffs before his villagers that he is a big star, holding his words Raja (Rajendra Prasad) his childhood friend comes to Madras to become a hero. Both of them endeavors a lot for a chance in films but they fail, finally, they settle's as workers in a photo studio where they meet a college girl Swapna (Lissy). After some petty quarrels, Raja & Swapna falls in love.
Swapna is a hire for a huge property, she is surrounded by the lot of enemies such as her maternal uncle Paramkusam (Guntur Sastry) who is the guardian of her entire property and her classmate Vinod (Ramaraju) son of an M.L.A who is a big rogue whom Swapna slaps before everyone. Once Raja & Shekar meets a Lawyer Bhuneswari Devi (Jayasudha) in an accident, she likes their honesty & innocence and helps them to start up a company on their own called "We Help" a home delivery service to people. Raja comes to know that Swapna as life threat from many people and he promises to protect her till his last breath. Next day when Raja & Shekar visit Swapna's house to convey birthday wishes to her, a shocking incident they discover that Swapna has been murdered and Raja & Shekar are implicated in the case. Inspector Rana Pratap (Raghuvaran) takes charge of the case and Bhuvaneswari Devi as defense council. Both of them are wife and husband who had been separated long back due to ego problems. Rest of the story is suspense thriller that who is the killer and whether Bhuvaneswari Devi able to protect Raja & Shekar?
