Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi (Urdu: سجاد حسین قریشی) (24 September 1923 – 23 January 1998) was the Governor of Punjab from 30 December 1985 to 9 December 1988. He did his Matriculation from Pilot Secondary School and B.A. from Govt. Emerson College. Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi completed L.L.B. from Punjab University, Lahore. His father Makhdoom Mureed Hussain Qureshi was member of Central Legislative Assembly with Quaid-e-Azam before partition. Makhdoom Muhammad Sajjad Hussain Qureshi actively participated in Pakistan Movement on the instructions of Quaid-e-Azam and visited Sindh & Balochistan to motivate public in favour of Pakistan. He participated in Historical Resolution of Pakistan meeting in Iqbal Park Lahore on 23 March 1940. He worked as Mayor of Multan Municipality for 10 years. He was elected Member of National Assembly of Pakitan in 1962, 1965 and 1977. He remained member of Federal Council of Pakistan from 1981 to 1985. He also became Senator and elected unopposed Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan. His son, Shah Mehmood Qureshi is a prominent politician.[1]
