Sahar Zaman is an India Independent Arts Journalist, newscaster, television anchor, art curator, media entrepreneur, guest lecturer and jewelry designer. She is the founder of Asia first Web TV Channel on arts,food and travel 'Hunar TV'. Sahar is too serving as Director of 'Home Decor' and famous Indian jewellery brand 'Chamak Patti'. She has been a journalist for over 14 years, closely tracking the Indian art market and modern and contemporary artists. She currently is an anchor on CNN-IBN.[1][2]
Recently Sahar was invited to Australia for a TV show titled 'Spirit of India' aimed to address the growing concerns of worsening Indian–Australian relations. Presently she is freelancing for Tehelka and Femina on art & design and also a part of Lime Road style council. Her art reports on television have been widely viewed and appreciated across Asia.
Indian journalist Sahar is at present working on a book that takes up as its subject the top 100 Indian works of art.[3] At present, she does an art show for Bloomberg UTV called Art Wise, writes art columns for the magazine Tehelka and curates art shows on news worthy issues.
Career
Sahar have been in business of television news for almost 15 years. She have done everything from reporting, writing and producing shows, Initially she settled into being a news anchor for mainstream political news and specialising in arts journalism.[4] When she entered to television journalism, continued tracking art and design apart from current affairs and politics.
As a journalist
She has been a journalist for over 14 years, closely tracking the Indian art market and modern and contemporary artists. At present, she anchors the news for News X and CNN-IBN news television channels. In past, she has been affiliated with Bloomberg TV, DD TV, Tehelka TV,[5] OPEN TV, Reuters Asia, Doordarshan News, Headlines Today as writer, news anchor, producer and reporter. In the honor of her responsibilities she has also been invited by Dawn News[6] television in Pakistan and Young Asia TV in Sri Lanka to speak about the role of journalism in subcontinent.[7] She has been invited to give talks on her unique work, including TEDx and Lalit Kala Academy. She uses up her spare time in giving lectures in Universities and art galleries on the art Indian market, television news and arts journalism. Having been in the thick of breaking news like the General Elections of India.

As a curator
As curator, Sahar is involved in curating art shows with politically and socially relevant issues.[8] As an art curator sahar wants to bring awareness and focus on great works created by Modern Masters like Souza, Raza and Tyab Mehta . She also curates shows but is clear about curating shows that have some social or political relevance.
Hunar TV
She is the founder of Asia first web TV called Hunar TV. The first web television channel focuses on the need for niche consumption of viewers through art and music, food and travel and all the things that make life more interesting, more meaningful.[9] On this web television channel you can carry with you and watch it on the go.[10]
Jewellery and home décor
Sahar started her own brand of fashion jewellery and home decor products under the Indian art brand Chamak Patti. She works with sheets of reflective sticker which are traditionally hand made by herself. The stickers are used to decorate trunks, glass bottles, table tops, wooden furniture, walls and jewelry.[11]
Sahar exhibited her designs in HTT (Heritage Transport Museum), India's first international transport museum in Manesar. She also participated with the display of a 'Chamak Patti Wall' installation at the India Design fair 2013.

Racism and reconciliation
First time in Indian and Australian art history, artists from both countries joined hands together to address the recent souring of Indo-Oz relations in the wake of the alleged racist attacks Down under at Art Konsult, New Delhi, India.
Mapping global conflicts
In this conference international artists come together to address world conflicts like the Palestine struggle, Iraq war, Naxal attacks, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Africa. The conference was held at Open Eyed Dreams Gallery, Cochin, Kerala in India.
News reporting
Sahar gave a lecture on News Reporting at Jamia Milia Islamia University, India. 'New While filing a report, it's important to know the nature of shots to take, kind of script to write, what to say in your Piece-to-camera, time spent on edit to meet your on-air deadline', Sahar said.
