SWOP Sacramento
The Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) of Sacramento is a California state social justice network founded by Kristen DiAngelo and Stacey Swimme[1] on June 27, 2014. It is a Northern California chapter of the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA (SWOP-USA). SWOP Sacramento is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing harm, improving healthcare, and upholding both the civil and human rights of sex workers and their communities. Its focus is on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy, while addressing the health and well-being of trafficking victims and those engaged in survival sex.
SWOP Sacramento in conjunction with Safer Alternatives through Networking and Education (SANE) conducted a needs assessment of sex workers in Sacramento. This survey found severe homelessness and SWOP Sacramento developed programs to address the needs.[1]
