Ruby Tandoh is a British baker, columnist, author and model. She rose to fame after becoming a runner-up on series four of BBC's The Great British Bake Off in 2013.

Early life

Tandoh's grandfather is from Ghana.[1] She grew up in Southend.[1]

She has written two books, "Crumb: The Baking Book" and "Flavour: Eat What You Love."[2] She writes for The Guardian.[3]

Tandoh is the co-founder of "Do What You Want," a zine about mental health. Her co-founder is her partner, Leah Pritchard. All profits from the zine go to charities and non-profits.[4]

Personal life

Tandoh is bisexual and has a girlfriend. She has spoken out about her struggles with eating disorders, criticising the bodyshaming common in 'wellness' culture and advocating for a healthier, more positive approach to food writing.[5] She was voted the Great British Bake Off's favourite past contestant by the RadioTimes audience in 2016.[6]
