Ruatoki is a locality in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand. It is located at the base of the Urewera Valley, approximately 20 km south of Whakatane.[2] The predominantly Māori community of approximately 600 people affiliate with the Tūhoe iwi,[3] with at least ten marae located in the area.[4] Ruatoki was one of the main sites involved in the 2007 New Zealand anti-terror raids, conducted under the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002.[2][3]

It is home to the Te Wharekura o Ruatoki School.
