Rowena Guanzon is a Filipino commissioner. She had been a Commissioner of COA before taking office at Comelec in February 2015 .[1]
Personal life
Born Maria Rowena Amalia V. Guanzon to the couple Hon. Sixto Guanzon, a retired RTC judge in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, and Elvira Villena Guanzon, formerly Cadiz City Vice Mayor.[2]
Public Service
City Mayor
Rowena V. Guanzon was appointed mayor of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental in late 1980's by the first Aquino administration.[3] She was re-elected for the same position during the 1988 National and Local Elections.
COA Commissioner
She was appointed Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner on March 8, 2013.[4]
COMELEC Commissioner
On April 28, 2015, she was named one of Commission on Elcections (COMELEC) Commissioner and will serve for seven years until February 2022.[5]
