Rory Brand

Rory Brand (born in Scotland on the 10 April 1998) is a professional rugby union footballer. He plays for London Irish in the 2016–17 British and Irish Cup.[1] Brand's regular playing position is scrum-half.

Rory Brand made his England U20 debut off the bench in the 46-0 victory over Italy at the Northern Echo Arena in February 2017.[2] Rory's England U18 debut was in the 21-5 win over France at Doncaster in February 2015,[3] having played for Lancashire U15, U16, the North U16 and England U17 and in April 2017 England U19.

Brand was the first recipient of the Jimmy Higham Scholarship at Wellington College.[4] Jimmy, like Rory, was a student at Standish High School in Wigan before becoming a PE teacher at Wellington College.

Brand was briefly on the Salford City Reds Scholarship scheme after gaining rugby league experience with Wigan St Cuthberts ARLFC and became a member of Sale Sharks Junior Academy (2013/15).

Brand joined the London Irish Academy (2015/16) and helped London Irish to beat Gloucester 35-11 in the U18 Premiership final in February 2016.[5]

Rory Brand captained London Irish at the 2017 Singha Premiership Rugby 7s.[6]
