Rodrigo Pereira da Silva is a Brazilian archaeologist, pastor, theologian, professor and television presenter. He is known to use archaeological evidence to prove the truthfulness of the Bible in the academic world.

Education

Graduated in theology, he received a postgraduate degree in philosophy by the University Center of Assunção (1999) and master's degree in historical theology by the Jesuit College of Philosophy and Theology (FAJE) (1996).[1] Specialization in Archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1998). Doctorate in Biblical theology by the Pontifical Faculty of Theology N. S. Assunção (2001). Postdoctoral studies with a concentration in Biblical archaeology by Andrews University (2008). PhD in classical archaeology by the University of São Paulo (USP).[2]

Career

He is Professor of Theology and Archeology at the Adventist University Center of São Paulo (UNASP),[3] curator of the Paulo Bork Museum of Archeology in the Middle East and presenter of the tv program Evidências by Novo Tempo television network.[4]

Archaeological finding

In 2016, archaeologist claimed to have found the exact spot where Abraham met with Melchizedek. According to the Bible passage, Abraham and Melchizedek made a sacrifice to God together and built an altar there. In the archaeological field, located in Jerusalem, were found evidences that can prove exact place. They found a built altar, an olive presser, a place to hang the sacrificial animal. The evidences found is dated from the time of Abraham.[5]
