Roderic Dugald Morton Page (born 1962), known as Rod, is an evolutionary biologist at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and the author of several books.[4] As of 2015 he is professor at the University of Glasgow and was editor of the journal Systematic Biology until the end of 2007.[5] His main interests are in phylogenetics,[6] evolutionary biology and bioinformatics.[7][8]

Education

Page was educated at the University of Auckland where he was awarded a PhD in 1990.[9]

Career and research

Page is known for his work on co-speciation and in particular the development of bioinformatic software such as TreeMap,[10] RadCon,[11][12] and TreeView.[1][13][14][15] Page is a co-author with Eddie Holmes of Molecular Evolution: A phylogenetic approach[3] and editor of Tangled trees: phylogeny, cospeciation and coevolution.[16]

Awards and honours

He received the Bicentenary Medal of the Linnean Society in 1998.[17]
