Rockwall Independent School District

Rockwall Independent School District is a public school district based in Rockwall, Texas (USA).

In addition to Rockwall, the district serves the cities of Heath, McLendon-Chisholm, Mobile City, most of Fate, and small portions of Rowlett, Wylie, and Dallas in Rockwall County. The district also extends into a very small portion of northern Kaufman County.

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

History

Rockwall ISD was established in 1841. In 2012 the district had 14,427 students, and in 2013 it had a budget of $100 million and over 1,500 employees.[2]
