Rob VanAlkemade

Rob VanAlkemade (born 1970, Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American documentary filmmaker.

Biography

Rob VanAlkemade began his career as, variously, a film director, producer, cinematographer, sound recordist, and editor in 1995.[1] His documentary short "Preacher with an Unknown God", about performance artist and political activist Reverend Billy and his Stop Shopping Gospel Choir,[2] won a Sundance Film Festival Jury Award in 2006[3] and led to a 2007 documentary feature What Would Jesus Buy?,[4] about the group's month-long anti-consumerism tour across the United States.[5]

After living in New York for many years, VanAlkemade currently resides in Los Angeles where he works as a network showrunner / executive producer with Paradigm, and an independent documentary director, cinematographer and editor.
