Rob Rotten is an American heterosexual pornographic film actor-director. He is famous for making pornographic films that have punk rock, horror, gonzo, and tattooed themes.
Biography
Rotten is the owner and president of Punx Productions, Inc., which was first created in 2001 and later incorporated in the State of California in 2004. Rob Rotten started as a male performer in the adult industry in 2001. While he was filming a friend's band, he met another camera guy, who happened to be porn filmmaker Jim Powers. A week later, Powers shot Rotten in his first movie. So Rob was already in the business when he met Rachel, who decided to join him. The couple really got attention when Rob co-directed a movie with Jim Powers called Little Runaway in 2003. It blended punk rock music, sex, and a campy plot, yet wasn't dismissed by the industry or consumers as too weird or niche. The film received more than a dozen AVN Award nominations.[1] Rob's company Punx Productions (punxproductions.com) is on the rise. There are lots of interesting characters in the adult industry, and Rob is no exception.[1] In 2006, he signed a contract to direct for Metro; his first film for its Loaded Digital line, is appropriately titled Fuck the System. It's a series of vignettes ("I have a really short attention span, so I like vignettes because they are like really short movies") that feature lots of spiky mohawks, scuffed-up Doc Martens, tattoos, skateboards, and sex. Foreplay, communication, and kissing aren't on the menu, but sweaty, saliva-soaked girls' faces are.[1] Given all the piercings and ink he displays on his own body and favors on others, I have to ask him about the trendy alt-porn movement and where he fits in. "I don't want to be affiliated with it," he says firmly. "I have been in this biz for a long time and the people who do 'alt porn' have been here for six months. If they want to say they started it, sure, let them. But Jim Powers was putting punk rock music in his videos in 1996. What's been classified as alt porn is crappy art stuff, some of [it is] just hilarious. I am not just doing punk rock movies. I am not just doing zombie movies. With every movie I do, I try to change the direction of it." [1] Rob Rotten's first zombie movie porn videos, Porn of the Dead, is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek parody/homage toward the George A. Romero film, Dawn of the Dead.[2] The film contains grotesque violence and gore, which is very unusual for a pornographic film. He has worked with stars such as Hillary Scott, Gia Paloma, Renee Pornero, Ashley Moore, Saphire Rae, Rachel Rotten (his ex-girlfriend) and many others. Rob Rotten remained as a Metro contract director until 2012, where he finished his last Metro projects, Sperm Sponges 2 and Scurvy Girls 3 [3] In addition to movies, Rob Rotten also published one coffee table book, Bong Load Girls: The Book,[4] which is available on Amazon.com.[5]
