RevZilla.com, also known as RevZilla, is an online motorcycle-gear retailer and digital media resource, headquartered in the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1][2][3] The company sells and reviews aftermarket motorcycle apparel, gear, parts and accessories.[1][4][5][6] Revzilla was founded by Nick Auger, Anthony Bucci and Matthew Kull.[4][7]

History

RevZilla was founded in 2007 by Nick Auger, Anthony Bucci and Matthew Kull [1][3][7] with the dual goal of selling the best motorcycle gear, parts and accessories and providing the best possible shopping experience to the modern motorcycle enthusiast.[7]

The founders recognized that their complementary skills in internet technology and digital marketing could yield new ways to serve the motorcycle market.[4] The company’s professional-quality gear review videos on RevZillaTV[2][4] and their award-winning customer service[8][9] has made Revzilla.com the go-to resource for motorcycle enthusiasts as well as a powerhouse in both the e-Commerce and motorcycle sectors.[1][8][9][10] The RevZilla experience is powered by internally developed technology that supports all eCommerce, media, ERP and fulfillment functions.[1][6]

The Founders bootstrapped the company from a startup to a successful mid-size company grossing more than $100 million in 2015.[11] Along the way, RevZilla also became known for its company culture and has received multiple best workplace recognitions for Pennsylvania and Philadelphia including The Philadelphia Inquirer’s #1 Top Workplace in 2015.  Nationally, 2016 also saw the company receive workplace recognitions including a 44th place listing on the Fortune 100[11] as well as being named to Fortune’s 20 Best Workplaces in Retail where they came in #1 for Best Small-Medium Sized Retailer.[12]

2016 saw another milestone with the founding partners of RevZilla joining forces with private equity firm J.W. Childs to create Comoto Holdings.[11] This new entity is the largest retail motorcycle apparel and accessories group in the world, pairing RevZilla with Cycle Gear’s 115 retail locations to lead both the online and offline marketplaces.[13][14]

Description

RevZilla operates an e-commerce platform that has apparel, accessories and parts for two, three and four-wheeled motorcycle sport vehicles such as dirt bikes, ATVs, sport bikes, and street bikes.[1] The company's online store was mentioned in the Chicago Tribune as a recommended cycle website by readers and referred to as the "Zappos of motorcycle gear."

Common Tread[15] is RevZilla’s online motorcycle news magazine featuring articles and videos on all things moto. Stories are added daily and cover everything from new motorcycle reviews, to industry news, opinion pieces and educational how-to stories.

Award-Winning Customer Service

The award-winning RevZilla Gear Geeks are a team of passionate, educated, motorcycle enthusiasts who help guide new riders, experienced journeyman and everyone in between.[6] They go well beyond fielding phone calls and customer inquiries, contributing to content creation, blog product reviews, and product launches that are part of RevZilla’s multi-channel approach to marketing and customer engagement. Vast in-house resources – including a proprietary CS interface, a library of thousands of extremely detailed product review videos, an active moto-centric blog, and an extensive social media presence – support the personal service delivered by the Gear Geeks.[6]

Original Content

In 2015, RevZilla’s content expanded beyond the gear reviews for which they are known when Common Tread was created as the editorial content arm of RevZilla.com. The editorial  mission is congruent with the company’s to “advance the experience of the motorcycle enthusiast” through media coverage of breaking news, motorcycle reviews, educational series and topical opinion content. Contributors reflect a diversity as broad as motorcycles themselves; from seasoned journalists to former racers, bike builders to globe-trotting adventurers.
