Resection
Resection may refer to:
- Resection (surgery), according to the ICD-10-PCS (inpatient procedure guidelines) and the Current Procedural Terminology (outpatient procedure guidelines), the removal by surgery of all of a tissue, bone, tumor, organ part, organ, or other body structure. Partial removal of a tissue, bone, tumor, organ part, organ, or other body structure would properly be labeled an excision.
- Segmental resection (or segmentectomy), the partial removal of an organ or other body structure, such as part or all of a lobe of the lung, a lobe of the liver, one of the phalanges of the fingers or toes, or a functional or anatomical division of the cerebrum or other part of the brain.
- Resection (orientation), a means of establishing a location by measuring angles only to known points
- Resection (Free Stationing), a means of establishing a position and orientation of a total station by measuring angles and distances to known points
