Reid Lamberty (born May 16, 1973) is a freelance general assignment Reporter/Anchor at WCVB-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. Lamberty is best known as being a co-anchor at WNYW (Fox 5), in New York City. He co-anchored Good Day Wake Up with Heather Nauert. Previously, he was a weekend anchor for WNYW-TV.
Lamberty grew up in Hightstown, New Jersey where he graduated from the Peddie School.[1] He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in journalism and was a member of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Reid started at WXZN-TV, a cable station in Trenton. He then went to WKEF-TV in Dayton, Ohio. Before coming to WNYW, Reid was a weekend anchor and Long Island reporter for WCBS-TV (CBS 2), the flagship station of CBS Television Network. He joined WCBS-TV in 2003 as the Long Island reporter and in 2004, began co-anchoring CBS 2 News Saturday and Sunday morning. Then in 2006, he became co-anchor of the weekend editions of CBS 2 News at 6 and 11. Before joining CBS 2, he worked at WHDH-TV in Boston, MA where he was an anchor and reporter for three years.
At the end of March 2010, Lamberty left the station to be closer to his family, a report said.[2]
Lamberty worked at the Sunbeam owned FOX affiliate WSVN Channel 7 in Miami, Florida, through August 2011.
On September 7, 2011, WHDH-TV (Channel 7) in Boston announced that Lamberty would become its new main anchor, joining the Boston NBC affiliate to anchor the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts with Kim Khazei.[3]
In June 2013, Lamberty was fired by WHDH, purportedly due to low ratings for the nighttime newscast in the 24-54 demographic.[4] Soon after, Lamberty served as a freelance general assignment reporter for WMUR-TV in Manchester, New Hampshire.
In October 2014, Lamberty re-surfaced in the Boston market as a freelance general assignment reporter for WCVB-TV, Boston's ABC affiliate.[5]
In December 2015, Lamberty was promoted to weekend evening anchor for WCVB, beginning January 10, 2016.
