Season chronology

The sixth season of the American animated comedy television series Regular Show, created by J. G. Quintel, originally aired on Cartoon Network in the United States. Quintel originally created the series' pilot using characters from his comedy shorts for the cancelled anthology series The Cartoonstitute. He developed Regular Show from his own experiences in college, while several of its main characters originated from his animated shorts The Naïve Man from Lolliland and 2 in the AM PM. Following the success of its fifth season, Regular Show was renewed for a sixth season on October 29, 2013. The season premiered on October 9, 2014,[3] and concluded on June 25, 2015.[2]

Production

Regular Show‍'s season 6 was storyboarded and written by Calvin Wong, Ryan Pequin, Benton Connor, Sarah Oleksyk (who moved on to become a storyboard director for Sanjay and Craig), Madeline Queripel, Minty Lewis, Toby Jones and Owen Dennis, plus newcomer Casey Crowe. Mike Roth was supervising producer until "Gamers Never Say Die" and Sean Szeles, who was supervising director, became a supervising producer as of "Eileen Flat Screen", though "The White Elephant Gift Exchange" was aired out of order. Szeles previously acted as supervising director earlier in the season alongside John Infantino, who once again became the sole supervising director for the rest of the season. From the episode "Eileen Flat Screen" onwards, Paula Spence was credited as supervising art director during this season. This was the last season where Roth worked on before he worked on the movie and left the show to other projects. The writers for this season were Quintel, Roth, Infantino, Szeles, Michele Cavin, and Matt Price, who is also the story editor.

Development

The series was renewed for a sixth season by Cartoon Network on October 29, 2013. A fourth "Terror Tales of the Park" aired on October 29, 2014 as part of this season, and J.G. Quintel announced that Season 6 would contain more half-hour specials, and even a wedding involving Muscle Man and his girlfriend Starla. This season was originally planned to have 40 episodes, but was cut to 31 to accommodate for the new film based on the series, and season seven will contain 40 episodes like previous seasons.[4]
