Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) is a cruise line, formerly known as Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, headquartered in Miami, Florida. The company offers luxury cruises which visit over 300 ports worldwide. Regent Seven Seas specializes in ships with small passenger capacity and many included amenities.

Ownership

Apollo Management, an investment group, purchased Regent Seven Seas Cruises from Carlson Cos. for $1 billion in February 2008. Apollo Investments also owns Oceania Cruises and 50% of Norwegian Cruise Line. Carlson retains ownership of the master Regent brand, along with the operations of Regent Hotels & Resorts around the world.[1]

Following the purchase, Apollo made public their plans to order a new ship for Regent. The new ship is planned to be of similar dimensions and capacity as the Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner, but with larger accommodations and expanded public spaces.

On September 2, 2014 that Norwegian Cruise Line purchased Prestige Cruise Holdings, the parent company of Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, for $3.025 billion.[2]

Amenities

"All-inclusive"

While many mainstream cruise lines price the cruising experience to some extent a la carte, Regent Seven Seas bills its cruises as "the most all-inclusive".[3][4] Base fare on Regent Seven Seas ships includes most alcoholic beverages onboard ship and most shore excursions in ports of call, as well as all gratuities that would normally be paid to hotel staff on the ship.[5] Some fares may also include a one-night hotel stay before boarding, and airfare to and from the cruise's origin and destination ports.[5]

Accommodations

Regent ships generally have large rooms (the line's Voyager and Mariner are described as the world's first and second "all-suite, all-balcony cruise ship[s]"[6]). Butler service is provided in higher-level accommodations such as Penthouse Suites.[5]

Spa services on-board Regent ships are provided by Canyon Ranch.[7]

Dining

Passengers on Regent ships have the option of dining in multiple restaurants, ranging from a casual poolside grill to a steakhouse and a French restaurant.
