Reece Conca (born 12 August 1992) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Originally from the Perth Football Club in the WAFL, Conca was drafted to Richmond with their first selection, the sixth overall, in the 2010 AFL Draft.
Conca made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2011 against Carlton at the MCG. In Round 9 he was nominated for the 2011 AFL Rising Star for a "stellar performance against Essendon."[1]
Conca caused controversy in 2014, when he intentionally struck Greater Western Sydney midfielder Devon Smith in the back of his head following a minor scuffle during the second quarter of the match between Richmond and Greater Western Sydney.[2] For this incident, Conca received only a two-match ban from the AFL Match Review Panel, when many argued his case should have gone straight to the AFL Tribunal.[3]
