Reduced cream
Reduced cream is a dairy product sold in New Zealand by Nestlé. It is claimed to contain "38% less fat than thickened cream".
It is sold in cans and does not require refrigeration.
Uses
Reduced cream is used to make "The Original Kiwi Dip", which uses it instead of sour cream in the recipe for French onion dip, along with Maggi-brand instant onion soup (another Nestlé brand). The recipe was invented by Rosemary Dempsey during the early 1960s at Nestlé's newly established test kitchen.[1]
