Recovery, Georgia

Recovery is an unincorporated community in Decatur County, Georgia, United States.[1]

History

The community's name originates from the fact the site originally was used in the American Civil War as a place for the ill to recover.[2] An early variant on the name was "Fort Recovery".[1] A post office called Recovery was established in 1885, and remained in operation until 1948.[3]
