Ravish Kumar (born on 5 December 1974) is an Indian TV anchor,[2] writer and journalist who covers topics pertaining to Indian politics and society.[3] He is a senior executive editor at NDTV India,[4] the Hindi news channel of the NDTV news network and hosts a number of programmes including the channel's flagship weekday show Prime Time, Hum Log[5] and Ravish Ki Report.[6]
Early life and education
He was born in a small district called history city "East Champaran" with its headquarters at Motihari, in Eastern State of India, [Bihar]. He studied at Loyola High School, Patna, and later on he moved to Delhi for his higher studies. He graduated from Deshbandhu college, University of Delhi . After that he did Mass Communication from IIMC, Delhi.
Awards
He has received the prestigious Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award for Hindi Journalism and Creative Literature for 2010 from the President of India (awarded in 2014).[7] He was honoured with the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award for the Journalist of the Year 2013 (Broadcast).[8] He was included in 100 most influential Indians 2016 list by The Indian Express.[9] He was awarded the best journalist of the year 2015 by mumbai press club. In March 2017, Ravish Kumar was honoured with the first Kuldip Nayar journalism award for his contribution to the field of journalism.[10]
Personal life
Ravish Kumar is married to Nayana Dasgupta, who is the head of the history department at Lady Sri Ram College.[11] He has two daughters.
