Rashmi Virag is the screen name of Rashmi Singh and Virag Mishra is an Indian lyricist-duo active in Bollywood cinema. At first Rashmi Singh and Virag Mishra used to write lyrics themselves, in 2015 they become a duo and after that they started writing lyrics as a duo named Rashmi Virag. Rashmi Singh won Best Lyricist award at 60th Filmfare Awards for the song Muskurane from the film CityLights.[1]

Early Life

Rashmi Virag is the stage name of Virag Mishra, born on 21st April 1976 a multidisciplinary man from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. A commerce graduate from Allahabad University,Virag has an additional Diploma in Hotel Management from the prestigious IHM Lucknow too.In his initial days he has worked in the tandoor section of the tallest hotel in Delhi "Kanishka(now known as Shangrilla)". Later he joined "Times School of Marketing" for masters and joined an advertising agency as a copywriter after successfully finishing his MBA. Since then he had been associated with globally acclaimed agencies like "Publicis Capital","Leo Burnett","Euro RSCG" and has handled many renowned corporate clients like "HDFC","Honda","India tv","Dabur","Maruti", etc. He has been the national creative head for Red FM also.

Academics

He is a Visiting Lecturer at many management colleges and deals with the topics like the business of creativity, breaking the clutter.

Career

Virag Mishra started writing lyrics for the songs of films which includes "Dus Kahaniya","Alibagh","Wood Stock Villa","Tere Sang","Sunday","Zinda". He has risen to prominence with his contributions to the industry and won "The Stardust Awards" in the best lyrics category for the song "Zinda Hoon Main". The lyrics of the latest remix of the Qawwali song " Ye jo halka halka" by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was also penned down by Virag. He wrote dialogues for the film "Wajah Tum Ho."Some of the most successful songs has been penned by Rashmi Virag including “Main Rahoon Yan a Rahoon”,”Bol Do Na Zara”,”Mujhko Barsaat Bana Lo”,”Raaz Ankhein Teri” ,”Teri Khusboo”.Most of his songs have ruled the charts and airwaves.He has won the Best Lyricist award at the 60th Filmfare Awards for the song Muskarane from the film Citylights.

Well, there is a story behind his stage name: Rashmi is his better half and his constant inspiration & support. She keeps on telling him that he is the reason for her smile and nonetheless that is the hook of the song "Muskurane ki wajah" which propelled him to win the "60th Filmfare Awards" in the best lyricist category.
