Rajeev Shankarrao Satav (born 21 September 1974) is the Member of Parliament from Hingoli in Maharashtra. He defeated Subhash Wankhede, Shiv Sena MP and a three time MLA. He is the Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC). Rajeev Satav is a two time consecutive winner of the Sansad Ratna Award, an honour given to the top performing Indian MPs. He was President of the Indian Youth Congress from February 2010 to December 2014. Before occupying the prestigious position of President, Indian Youth Congress, he was President of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress from May 2008 to February 2010.

He has the distinction of wresting the Kalamnuri Assembly seat in Marathwada region from the Shiv Sena after 20 years in the 2009 elections.

• 1993 Participated in National Integration Camp in Panchmadi in Madhya Pradesh organized by Ministry of Human Resource , GOI. • 1994 Participated in the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath, New Delhi. • 2006 General Secretary Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress. • From 2002 to 2007 was Member, Panchayat Samiti, Kalamnuri, secured 2817 votes (83%) out of 3410 votes. • In 2007 got elected as the Member Zilla Parishad Hingoli, secured 6361 votes ( 71%) out of 8885 votes. Became President of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Milk Development Committee during this tenure started the “Krushiratna ” award. • During 2007-2008 successfully organized Youth Convention for the Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwad University in Kalamnuri Youth from more than 100 colleges participated in this. • 2008 President Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress. • 2008 Executive Committee Member, Marathwada Agriculture University. • 2008 Member Senate Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University, Nanded. • Elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and secured 67804 votes. During Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure as Uttar Pradesh(UP) Chief Minister, Indian Youth Congress did UP assembly Gherao at Lucknow. 3. Indian Youth Congress did Karnataka assembly Gherao in protest of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). 4. Protest against the UP Government for non implementation of food security law. 5. Did Bihar Assembly Gherao in protest of none implementation of food security law. 6. Protest against senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj in front of BJP head quarters at Delhi. 7. Protest in front of BJP Head quarters in view of increasing rate of crime against women during Narendra Modi rule in general and protest against Uber Taxi rape case in particular.

He has been awarded honours for achievements in parliamentary discussion with precious member of parliament Award ( Sansad Ratna) on date,11th jun 2016 in IIT CHENNAI.

1. Buniyad- Convention of Elected Office Bearers of Indian Youth Congress in which about 10,000 members participated. It was organized on 28 & 29 November 2011 at New Delhi. 2. Karwa- First ever alumni meet of present and former Youth Congress National office bearers and State Presidents. It was organized on 5 December 2014 at New Delhi. 3. Relief camps for the Muzaffarnagar Riot victims.

Member of Parliament

Rajeev Satav was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from Hingoli constituency in Maharashtra after winning a closely fought election.[1] The constituency is spread over two regions, Marathwada and Vidarbha.

Termed as a voice with clarity, he opened the Congress's response in Parliament on Aadhaar Bill,[2] skill development and others.[3] Important parliamentary debates he's taken part in include those on agrarian crisis, MNREGA, drought, railways, and motion of thanks on President's address.[4] He is a member of three Parliamentary committees, which are Standing Committee on Defence, Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes and Joint Parliamentary Committee on Land Acquisition bill.[5]

He has a Parliament attendance record of 88%, higher than the national average. He has participated in 149 debates and asked 734 questions (6th highest nationally) in the 16th Lok Sabha. He has introduced 11 private member's bills, which include establishing Supreme Court circuit benches in India's metros, compulsory teaching of agricultural education and lowering of age to contest MP, MLA and MLC elections etc.[6][7]

Rajeev Satav is a two time consecutive winner of the Sansad Ratna Award, an honour given to the top performing Indian MPs. He has the second highest overall tally of initiated Debates, Private Members Bills and Questions among the First time MPs in the Lok Sabha.[8]
