Production
Producer Mohan encouraged Rajeev to do this film in Hindi as this plot will have a wider market and Rajeev felt this won't work out in Malayalam because of fantasy element in script.[2] Jennifer Winget made her acting debut as child artist with this film.[3]
Controversy
The film became controversial for the scene where Manisha plays with elephant's tail.[4]
