Raghopur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Hindi: राघोपुर विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is an assembly constituency in Vaishali district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 128 Raghopur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Raghopur and Bidupur community development blocks.[1]

Raghopur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 21 Hajipur (Lok Sabha constituency) (SC).[1]

Election results

1977–2010

In the 2010 state assembly elections, Satish Kumar of JD(U) won the Raghopur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Rabri Devi of RJD.[2][3] Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Rabri Devi of RJD defeated Satish Kumar of JD(U) in October 2005 and Rajiv Ranjan of LJP in Bihar Assembly Election, Feb 2005. Laloo Prasad of RJD/ JD defeated Vishundeo Rai of JD(U)/ Independent in 2000 and 1995. Udai Narayan Rai of JD/ LD defeated Harihar Prasad Singh, Independent/ JP in 1990/ 1985. Udai Narayan Rai of Janata Party (Secular – Charan Singh) defeated Ram Jaipal Singh of Congress in 1980. Vabulal Shastri of JP defeated Kanhai Prasad Singh of Congress in 1977.[4]
