Rafael Valdomiro Greca de Macedo, better known as Rafael Greca (born March 17, 1956) is a Brazilian engineer and politician, current mayor of Curitiba. He was minister of Sport and Turism (1999–2000), state deputy (2003–06) and federal deputy from Paraná (2000–03). Greca was also mayor of Curitiba from 1993 to 1996).[1]
Political career
In 1992, Greca was elected mayor of Curitiba, defeated Maurício Fruet.
In 1994, Greca endorsed Jaime Lerner and Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
In 1998, Greca was elected federal deputy.
In 1999, Greca was appointed minister of Sport and Turism by president Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
In 2002, Greca was elected state deputy from Paraná for the Liberal Front Party (PFL).
In 2006, Greca endorsed Roberto Requião and Lula.
In 2010, Greca endorsed Osmar Dias and Dilma Rousseff
In 2012, Greca ran for mayor of Curitiba, without success. Endorsed Ratinho Júnior.
In 2014, Greca ran for federal deputy, without success. Endorsed Roberto Requião and Dilma Rousseff.
In 2015, Greca breaking with Roberto Requião.
In 2016, Greca was elected mayor of Curitiba for the Party of National Mobilization (PMN) with the support of Beto Richa (PSDB).
