Radio Invicta (London pirate station)
Radio Invicta was a pirate radio station that broadcast in London from 1970 to 1984. Most of the time, Radio Invicta operated on VHF on 92.4 MHz. It used the slogans "Soul over London"[1] and "Europe's first and only all soul station". Radio Invicta was the first UK station to play only soul music.
Steve Marshall went on to work in the Middle East and the Island of Ireland and all over the World.

DJs
A great many of the DJs on the soul, funk, and jazz-funk scenes at the time played on the station, including Froggy, Chris Hill, et al. Perhaps the best known ones who continued their careers at the BBC being Gilles Peterson (first on BBC Radio 1, then later on BBC Radio 6 Music) and Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1).
