RAK Petroleum is the largest private oil and gas company in the Middle East. RAK Petroleum is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It holds an ownership stake in a publicly traded Norwegian oil and gas company DNO International with properties located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the Republic of Yemen, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Tunisia. The company was founded in 2005 and its headquarters are in Dubai.[1]

History

RAK Petroleum Public Company Limited was formed as a public company limited in the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority Free Zone with an initial capital of USD 820 million, raised through private placement. RAK Petroleum's shares are closely held by leading institutions, regional banks, investment funds and prominent individuals in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. Members of the Board of Directors and management are invested in the Company as well.

Shareholders

RAK Petroleum Public Company Limited had 407 shareholders as of 31 December 2012. Shares are listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
