Qays Shayesteh (born 22 March 1988) is an Afghan footballer who plays for DETO. He has also played for Twente (youth club), Heracles Almelo, Veendam and Emmen. He played for VV Glanerbrug for the 2013/14 season until the club's demise. He has been capped for Afghanistan three times. He is the only Afghan player to have played in the top tier of a UEFA league, making seven appearances for Heracles Almelo between 2008 and 2010. He also played in the second tier, Eerste Divisie, for Veendam and Emmen.
International career
Shayesteh is a former youth international for the Netherlands.[1] Shayesteh has represented the Afghanistan national football team since 2011.[2]
